Silver Spur Estates, Blocks 1-3
Legacy Engineering provided drainage analysis and roadway construction plan design services for Silver Spur Estates Blocks 1–3, a residential subdivision located in Ector County, Texas. Legacy was engaged after the preliminary lot layout had already been presented to the County, requiring efficient coordination and precise integration of drainage and roadway design to support the project’s progression toward approval and construction.
Legacy Engineering performed a comprehensive drainage analysis of the proposed subdivision to evaluate post-development runoff conditions and determine compliance with Ector County’s on-site detention requirements. The analysis concluded that approximately 14,037 cubic yards of detention storage was required to mitigate runoff impacts. To accommodate this requirement, Legacy Engineering worked within the constraints of the approved preliminary layout and redesigned one of the planned residential lots into a dedicated detention facility. This approach allowed the development to meet County requirements while preserving the overall subdivision design intent.
In conjunction with the drainage analysis, Legacy Engineering prepared a complete roadway construction plan set, including detailed plan and profile sheets. The roadway design was carefully coordinated with the drainage report to ensure consistency between roadway grading, drainage infrastructure, and the required detention facility. This level of internal coordination minimized the potential for review comments and helped support a smooth approval process.
Legacy Engineering completed the drainage analysis and construction document preparation in approximately three weeks, demonstrating the firm’s ability to deliver fully coordinated civil engineering solutions on an accelerated timeline while maintaining compliance with local regulations.
